18.02.2009 - Recent Orange Box Engine Updates
Recent updates of valve for the games "Team Fortress 2" and "Day of Defeat: Source" for the orange box engine have caused some trouble with players steam-id logging. After the updates the engine reported the steam-ids with the new prefix "STEAM_1" instead of the previous one "STEAM_0". The new reporting caused problems for many plugins and other software which track players doubled or not at all. Meanwhile valve has already reverted these changes with further updates to use the old "STEAM_0" prefix again for the players steam-ids.
All HLstatsX Premium accounts as well as the whole HLstatsX Premium backend (masterserver, global-stats, banlist, etc.) were not affected by these problems at any time. This issue was dealt with on an earlier stage and the HLstatsX Premium systems did not had any problems at all and were running smoothly during the updates. No players were tracked doubled or are missing within the statistics.
Additionally we have improved some important parts of our global-stats systems a lot. By now the player and server tracking is even more accurate and reliable.
